There was a rather last min team outing today... i was pretty reluctant to go all the way to East Coast Park, moreover wif the rainy season past week, i forsee it's not that ideal for outdoor activities. But my colleagues kept 'psycho' me to go tog.... the guys initiated this as they wana play soccer!
When 4 of us boarded the cab & travelling on the ECP, i could see storm clouds clustering & waiting to lash out anytime! Alas! The thunderstorm came fast & furious! It's pretty scary as the raindrops were hitting hard on the windscreen, while the wiper was busily brushing off the rain... our cab had to move at a very slow speed since the road was barely visible. When we reached the East Coast Waraku, that seems to be the only sheltered drop-off point. My umbrella could barely shield myself as i waddled across many puddles of water wif my colleagues to reach the indoor soccer field. Gosh! Water seeped thru' my track shoes & felt rather uncomfortable in my wet socks. At the fields, none of our other colleagues were in sight! Later, we discovered they were seeking shelter at BK & eating their lunch!
Only much later, the rest of them came over & the boys had their soccer games... while we gals were getting bored there. As it's still raining, we couldn't go cycling either. On the fields, no matter 25 or 45, all the guys in my team turned into boys! Well, boys will always be boys...irregardless of their ages! After a couple of hrs, they finally decided to stop & went to wash up. 2 of the boys impromptu went for a dip in the sea! Now, the rain had stopped & i could see people continuing wif their cycling... while i snapped a pretty nice shot of the beach to record my 1st time at East Coast Park on a stormy day!
We procceed to the Billard/Pool place for some games... i was excited as I had not played Pool for some time! After 2 of the guys played, I took over & played against the handsome lad in my team. Alamak, he was none the better than i'm in this game lo! Our game took such a long time & still so many balls not cue in! Eventually, other guys helped him as he was in 'gave up' mode, haha!
After our workout, it's makan time! We went over to Sushi Tei, located at the other end... luckily, i got a ride on one of their cars. We were each allowed to order a main course & side, not exceeding $25, while Jeremy ordered more side dishes to be shared. As some colleagues were on leave today, we could eat their share! HoHo! Our sides included sashimi, tempura & dragon rolls. I opted for Sukiyaki as main + skewered scallops. 4 of us at our section also shared agadeshi toufu & i tried a bit of garlic fried rice, which was tasty! After having my Sukiyaki, i was quite full ... But no worries, I still left some room in my tummy for desserts, keke! I decided to try something I had never tried here, so i selected the Yuzu Sorbet. It was a long wait for my dessert but when it arrived, it's certainly worth waiting! Yuzu is actually a citrius fruit & there's bits of it embedded inside the sorbet. It was a well-balanced taste between sweet & sour, juz nice to aid in digestion! After all that we ordered, surprisingly our bill was within our budget! It was indeed a satisifying dinner :)
