Dinner with Rachel ~ House of Steamboat...

8 May ~ Thurs ... din expect it will arrive so soon as it's Rachel's last day at work. Thou i only know her a month & she's from my neighbouring team ... we clicked off veri well rite from the start! Started off chatting after seeing her Nepal photos album which she bought to office to share. After viewing, I was impressed at some of the sunset/sunrise shots & pics of Mt. Everest 云海 and began to ask her what DSLR she used etc. Travel was our initiating topic & I guessed speaking canto also made us felt more 亲切, haha!

Next thing was discovering that she's gg to leave the Co in a mth's time so we decided to lunch tog. Rachel comes across as chatty, humourous & shared alot of interesting stories. Travel & TVB were our common topics, waahaaa! I'm so glad to find another TVB fanatic, who chased discs daily! In ofc, we had much lesser chance to really chat as we had alot of work. Whenever i tried to walk to her desk, she would ''jump'' & complained i ‘下死她’as she din hear my footsteps...but harlow! our ofc is carpeted leh! kekeke! Our chit-chats doesn't a single bit shows our 16 yrs age gap LoL. Somehow, i seems to be able to relate better to ppl older than me. Left: Rachel's last day at work

Rachel is sweet to sms me to say that her last day hav to lunch wif me... haha! Cos i noe she hv alot of bookings fr various colleagues across depts for all prev days. I called her Ms Popular! But din expect she actually treated me to dim sum at Yan Palace, a stone throw fr our ofc. It was ages since i last ate dim sum there. She too 客气啦 as i bought her dinner the prev friday.

On the same evening, Rachel 'booked' me for dinner on friday. She bought me to Tan Quee Lan Street off Bugis for steamboat dinner. Her young maid joined us as Rachel said was her maid's bday & doesn't wan leave her alone at home. We came to this 火锅之家 (House of Steamboat) as Rachel had made a reservation. It's a small outlet but it's packed. I leave it to Rachel to order & we had a Herbal Chicken Soup + a Herbal Pork Bones Soup. She highly rec the pork here. As her maid couldn't take pork, she also ordered chicken & beef. I had the best of both worlds as i could eat all the 3 types of meat, heehee! All the meat were cut into thin slices wif visibly little fats!
Right: Rachel busy preparing the steamboat

Then, we went to the buffet counter & took quite alot till our whole table was filled up! There is also free flow of blackcurrent & orange juices. Rachel also like prawns but dislike peeling them (me too!), so her maid helped to peel bef the prawns succumbed to the simmering water! hehe! We had a good time chatting & laughing over the steamboat dinner. Left: Kawaii pig! ~ chewy fish cake.

After dinner, i wanted go dutch but Rachel again refused to accept the payment! She only req that i treat her to ToastBox for coffee. But i was so full that i sugg we walk around in Bugis Junction first and after abit of digestion, we adjoined to ToastBox & continue our chit-chat. At 10+, her hubby came to fetch her & she offered to give me a ride home.

Both happy & sad as I will miss a khaki at work, while happy for her to enjoy an early retirement... well, life is short & since there's a choice to do something you like, why not?
