I'm lucky to join a new Co at this time of the year ... Juz had a CNY dinner at Sheraton Hotel a couple of weeks ago & today attended the annual D&D at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel.
The theme for the evening was Discovering, meaning disco & party the nite away! I had a headache wat to wear lah! No 'cheong' clothing wo.... Finally, i decided to dress in sliver/grey as i guess most ppl gg wear black, heehee!
The dinner started punctually at 8pm & the MC was a 'lao beng'...he talked in a beng manner - singlish style, but was hilarious! He was joking about 'Mas Selamat', Sg's most wanted criminal in-bet the dinner. Our CEO, an 'ang mo' was veri sporty & dressed up in a dazzling party gear! 4 men also dressed up in funky colourful suits & topped wif big sailor hats. A couple of the VIPs also dressed up retro style, wif 爆 炸头 wigs! It's the first time i see mgt ppl so spontaneous lo!
Our menu stated was 8-course dinner...i was impressed by the 1st dish, the cold plate was abit unusual, as it have california maki! One of my fav sushi! We had thick fish maw soup as 2nd dish. The rest of the dishes were fried chicken, steamed sea-bass, 3-types mushrooms fried wif 豆苗, prawns wif vegs, fried noodle & our dessert was something i nv eat bef... mandarin oranges wif lotus seeds in white fungus. I like all the dishes except for the noodles.
In between our food, we played games such as the 石头剪刀布 challenge! We went by table challenge, followed by inter-tables & see whose the grand champ! There's also getting the best dressed couples to dance to Indian, Chinese & Malay music, accompanied by silly moves directed by the MC. The indian one was funny as had to dance bollywood style, wif the MC acting as the coconut tree in-bet the couple, haahaa!
Anyway, the key attraction was the 50 prizes in the lucky draw! I was awed by the generousity of the prizes! When the Nintento Wii was announced as a prize, i was hoping for it leh! My colleague, LingEn shouted she wan! Next moment, her older sis - XiaoEn was announced the winner! So envy! In fact, being to so many D&Ds, i found this one have the most attractive prizes lo! There were 4 sets of air-tickets to various destinations like taiwan, thailand. 1st prize being 2 return tic to Milan, Italy worth over $4,400! Omg! My dream ITALY! Why not me? There's also many top hotels stays packages, like Ritz Carlton, Fullerton, Rasa Sentosa! Shopping, buffet, Spa vouchers & hps too! I could only clap hands for the winners, haiz! Nv hv lucky draw luck leh :(
After makan, there was a magic performance, followed by dancing time on the dance-floor. My colleagues & I went to the dance floor to party tog, the music were pretty rojak lo! Even hav a Bollywood tune & an indian lady was damm gd dancing away lo!
1140pm, the event ended thou it's officially till 1am...nevertheless, it was a fun evening!
