We, the Citizens of Singapore...Our Nation's Bday!

Yeah! It's National Day lo! 9 Aug again...every yr seems whizz past v fast. It's also my mommy's bday, haha! So privilege to get the nation celebrate tog hor? Our family had dim sum at our fav HarbourCity restaurant @ PSA. So far, tis is the best dim sum place i had tried in Sg. Can eat really fast as the food r served in traditional push trolley-style... juz c which dim sum appeals to u... waving ''eat me!'' & it will be in ur mouth shortly, heehee! (^o^) AhHa! Have to show u all this special dessert called 贵花糕, it's agar-agar, sweet wif a light fragrance... if u all watch periodic dramas, u will recall the emperor always eat this!!! I woofed 1 whole plate myself, 1st time...u get a cooling sensation aft eating!

After lunch, met Ruby & Zhifang at Vivo City... we went to Gloria Jean's for drinks & we shared my fav blueberry cheesecake, all courtesy of ZF....haha! 1st time she treat leh, cos she gg to fly us kite later for NDP. We chatted for nearly 2hrs & walked around abit. We packed 'SuperDog' hotdogs for our NDP watching.

Me & Ruby made our way to Raffles Place, cut thru' Fullerton Hotel, wanting to reach the Starbucks at One Fullerton to view NDP. Alamak! When we arrived, the whole area was fenced up!!! That was 5pm, we were too late... We tried to walk to the bridge, but too overwhelmed! This year was the 1st NDP on the sea, off Marina/Esplanade. Being kiasu s'poreans, many ppl had ''chopped'' seats duno since wat time. The poor police officer on duty had to use loudspeakers to get ppl not to jostle further on e bridge...but fell to deaf ears!!!

We decided to U-turn, since no gd view there...Ruby even tried to tell ppl ''the bridge is closed''! Haahaa! Since it's a 1-way street, we juz strolled further down...It's a pity as a huge waterfront area was blocked by all e on-going construction. We finally found a U Can't Think-Of Place. It's at the Flag parapet outside NTUC building! We sat on this 1m high thing, enjoyed the breezy evening, no need to smell e sweat of others & savoured our delicious SuperDog, yummy!

Slowly, many ppl also tried to squeeze wif us on that small area... Most irritating were this family wif 2 boys, extremely naughty! They bickered & scrambled ard us! 1st time in my life, I scolded ppl's kids!!! OMG! They had breached my patience limits. I forgot wat i chided them, but it's juz too dangerous to move ard & fall off the 1m tiny area lo!
Left: SEE! We dressed in RED - Patriotic ? Wif the Sg flag flying above us

Suddenly, loud noise of pyrotechinics was heard! We looked ard, then discovered it's blasted fr the top of the NTUC bldg!!! We were directly below! Both of us were toying wif our cam since can't really view e parade, but the ambience was special. We snapped our surroundings, did self-pics again! haahaa! Then, we saw the helicopters flew past, carrying the SG red-and-white flag! Wow! 1st time, i viewed so near! Shortly, the F-16s zoomed past, we heard the loud swissh & caught sight of the aircrafts in spilt-seconds! We also saw the giant Helium-filled illuminated jellyfishes tugged on sea...they looked like floating in e air fr our view! :p

While ppl were cheering on the other end of e waterfront, we tried GPRS viewing on our hp. Since can't work properly, both of us juz enjoyed ourselves -- ppl watching. It's the 1st time, i ever saw so many ppl in Raffles Place. We saw the U can't believe scenes... cars were parked on the rd, a man climbed up his car to watch... kids sat on-top of van to see. Avid photographers set up tripods in the mid of road!!! (a patch of grass) . The ice-cream uncle was enjoying roaring gd biz too!

Approaching 8pm, ruby proposed we stand upfront, at e carpark entrance. The fence was lower, so shld offer a clearer view of the fireworks. However, the securities tried to chase ppl off...anyway, later they relented by asking e public to stay behind yellow line. We saw the opposite waterfront hotels' rooms mostly lit-up, we wished to be high up there too! 8.15pm ~ Sudden loud bangs and the vibrant colours of e fireworks streaked across e skies!!! We videoed wif our cams... The scene was Spectacular, as usual, the crowd went .... WOO! WoW! As i said, we all waited sooo long, was juz for that few minutes, haahaa!

We adjoined to Lau Pa Sat for dinner, heng! we walked real fast... as the whole place was crowded pretty soon. Ruby was nice enuf to Q 20 mins to get me a drink :-) We were both veri tired but enjoyed ourselves too!
