Pre-Bday Lunch: Itacho Sushi (板長壽司)

First time doing a pre-birthday lunch wif the gals... since weekdays now are simply impossible for ruby.  Supposedly the KTV was meant for today but had shifted to last Sun. Ruby & I went to our usual Partyworld to utilise my bday voucher... we were surprised that they no longer serve bubble tea! The price has gone up since they no longer serve fruits platter, 2x big glass of bubble tea & wet tissues! So sad! Going KTV is one of my fav thou I only patronise like bi-monthly. Now thinking back, luckily i had organised my Partyworld bday bash last year! Anyway, i was not in my best form after a flu the previous day, hence couldn't hit my high key! The air-con was so cold that both of us shiver & I could feel the coldness running from my head to toe! We tried BMC at 313@Somerset for the first time... i chose the wrong pasta! The tremendous dose of pepper made it really HOT! Boo...

Today, I suggested we try out Itacho Sushi @ Bugis Junction's basement... always noted a snaking Q at Ion's outlet. Itacho Sushi is actually a chain of japanese sushi restaurants hailing from Hong Kong! ZF was pretty on time, while Ruby was late (again!). When we walked into Itacho, it was still quite empty.  As we browsed thru' their menu, we were not sure wat to order... luckily, i noted a couple of sushi fr Open Rice's Reviews. We ordered the Lobster & Mango Salad Roll, Avocado Sushi, Gyoza, Shrimp Tamago, Prawn Tempura & a Udon wif Pork Chop.

When the Creative Sushi ~ Lobster & Mango Salad Roll, Avocado Sushi arrived... Zf & I were dismayed that there's only 2 sushi per serving! We have 3 ppl, so definately have to re-order one of these. The Shrimp Tamago was served warm & i like it! The warmness of the Tamago together wif the shrimp's freshness. When Ruby arrived, the tamago has probably turned cold! The Prawn Tempura is most pathetic...not that it's not nice, but only have 1 piece! In the serving aspect, we felt that the serving is too little & not value for money! Zf commented this place is more for couples, while i tot it's more for small-eaters, haha! We shared the Udon & found the Pork Chop too dry. After finishing the sushi, Ruby ordered another set of Avocado Sushi, Prawn wif Cheese Sushi & Yuzu Chicken.

We all felt that the choices were pretty limited too... The Prawn wif Cheese was nice, wif a salty taste fr the cheese. We all agreed that the Yuzu Chix is nice as it's tender & bite-size. Zf said that she will not return to Itacho while i still prefer Sushi Tei, haha!
