It's a wet-weather week and thou' there's no T-storm today but the drizzle had dampened our original plan to visit the botanic gardens... Hence, I suggested to Ruby we shall switch to Plan B, to mit up in the evening for a stroll at Clarke Quay.
It's the first wkend for the annual Mid-Autumn Lanterns display at the river-front... since it's sunset time when we reached, I snapped pic of the dragon in daylight first, bef the skies turn dark. We strolled to Liang Court to chk out Streets HK Cafe... Omg! It's a super long wait, fr the queuing to our food... the service level definately needs to polish up! Like wat ruby said, the only console was the food was pretty tasty afterall! I had been craving for spaghetti for e past few days, so i opted for the Baked Cheese Spaghetti wif Chix Chop. After we foot our bill, it's already 8pm!
Day & Nite Views
It's time for our digestive stroll as we made our way towards the bridge & it turned out to be a nitemare squeezing our way thru! There were stalls lining both sides of the bridge and left little space for the crowd moving across the river. I joked that we dun need walk, the people behind would push us thru lo! On the other side of the bridge lies a mini taiwan food bazzar, throng wif lots of people! The ticketing booth was swarmed....maddness! After walking past the stalls, i felt i stink! The smelly tofu's smell was unavoidable & the air was pretty still despite the drizzle in the afternoon. Thou' i like the authentic smelly tofu from taipei, but the ambience here was not alluding for us to wana pay 3 bucks to eat!
The lanterns dressing up the bridge was sponsored by Sg Underwater World, hence there were dolphins & fishes lanterns... but due to the blinking lights, it doesn't really look fabulous on photo. As usual, along the river front, lies the chinese 12 zodiac, but it's such a disappointment this yr! I tot they are supposedly cute this yr (based on papers report) but all look so ugly! None look like the zodiac it represents... if we din notice the label, we would had guessed otherwise! For e.g: Goat looks like Dog! -_-''' Hence, din really snap much pics of these.

Then, there are the lantern floats on the water, each depicting a chinese literary classics, such as Journey to the West （西游记）, Water Margin （水浒传）, Romance of the Three Kingdom （三国演义）... On a closer examination of the photos, I saw that the sponsor for the 三国演义 is Sg Turf Club, haha! Why? Cos the characters were riding horses! Subtle advertisment LoL . I also returned to take pic of the gigantic dragon lantern.

Our last part was pretty fun, when i suggested to take pics of ourselves... luckily i brought my tripod along, as the self-shot wif the dslr was too challenging, haha! I chose low angles, trying to blur out the crowd behind & focusing only on ourselves wif the lanterns framing us... Not too bad! When we were done, we went to Haato & Co for ice-cream! We shared the rich black sesame ice-cream & light yuzu sorbet... yummy! Wat a cooling respite for the nite ^o^ Gamsahamnida ruby for the tasty treat!
