Great Food, Great Weekend!

I was so glad that i had dated Clara for dinner on sat evening, cos it really motivated me to quickly finish my work & go for a good dinner with my buddy! But leh, duno why....the skies juz turned cloudy & started pouring when i was abt to get out! Heng, the storm came & left very fast ... but poor Clara got soaked when she darted from the bus to the mrt station! Clara had always been raving about this collagen ramen she loves, so i asked her to bring me to try it @ Marina Square.  She regularly patronise this japanese restaurant & i bet the waiting staff recognise her liao, haha!

With the thundering & lightning outside, the tot of a warm bowl of ramen sounds enticing rite? Before long, we arrived at this Kyo-Nichi Japanese Ramen, which could be spotted when you stepped out of the escalator on level 3 (next to Pasta De Waraku).  Ooh... so desu... i had noticed this corner ramen shop before but it's always virtually quiet? so i did not attempt to try, hehe! Typical s'poreans mindset hor...long Q = good food. No Q = not nice?

Let's see! Clara started rattling off the menu those she had tried before & she suggested we juz ordered 1 set meal, which include the lower priced ramen + a side dish + 1 canned drink for $15.  I opted for the Cha Siew Ramen ($13), while Clara had the Corn Ramen (part of set). There's 3 types of soup-base, you can have the normal, spicy or thick. 'Thick' refers to 'enhance' wif collagen....hmm, tink tis would appeal to most ladies, not sure if it really makes your skin 'springy' after having a collagen ramen, waahaa! Our side dish was the deep fried Ebi Rolls.

This restaurant had only a few tables filled, hence our ramen were served pretty fast. Omg! I saw a layer of oil blooping on my soup...eh, i guess that's the collagen? Hack care lah, snap my pics & dig in!  Wow! The soup was indeed very 浓, 够味... but as i ate more of it, it gets saltish.  I slurped finished my ramen pretty fast & still had many char siew in my bowl (did finish ultimately). The cha siew was too soft to my liking, it's so soft that my chopstick could not pick it up! It juz melts in your mouth.  I tink it will be nicer if have abit of fats in-between the pork.

Clara tried the Ebi Rolls for the first time & she found them not bad...very crispy & i helped to finish 3 of those cos clara said i had to eat them up! ^o^  Whenever i go out with smaller-eaters, i will receive this 'task'... keke! But i love it when everyone enjoy the food together.... I would think the pricing is reasonable for $15 each + No 10% service charge... plus confirm have seats in a busy shopping mall lo!

Sunday. The storms from previous night had gone & gave way to a cooling day for us to go lunch.  I proposed to my family to try 幸福饮茶酒楼 @ International Building (orchard). Usually visited this bldg only for KTV, had not tried its eateries... but birthday boy ~ my brother wanted a dim sum place... since i had sample it's congee at Vivo's food republic before, i had no qualms on trying the complete menu here!  Wow, again no crowd here leh! my family had abit of reservations on the dim sum standard.  Yes, we are most picky on dim sum, since this is a very canto food mah! Ever since the closure of Harbour City Restaurant, they had been lamenting there's no more nice dim sum, haha!

In a couple minutes, my bro & I ordered a list of dim sum from the menu... that's including our must-have century egg with lean meat congee, siew mai, har gow, scallop har gow, pan-fried carrot cake, chicken claws, pan fried guo-tie, xiao long bao, char siew / prawn cheong fun, fried beancurd skin, paper-wrapped chix.... before we realised, we ordered 12 items liao!

The century egg congee were served first & wow! I really love it....how should i put it? it's not the watery kind, it's really very thick congee and alot of thin sliced lean meat inside, garnish wif the crispies on top.  It's worthwhile i skipped my breakfast, hehe! Next, we had the paper-wrapped chix ~ 2 big chix wings served piping hot! Really tasty leh! For this, you have to indicate wan how many pieces. Subsequently, the other dim sum followed & our table was filled... till i duno which to try first, haha! My parents initially asked why served only 3 in each 笼, not 4 pieces? But when they tasted, all agreed that the prawns inside were juicy & fresh! Each siew mai/har gow were quite big & succulent... 真是物有所值! My dad & bro enjoyed the 凤爪, which i duno how appreciate... only disappointment was the char siew cheong fun... ahah, tis is my must-have & i set high standard lo! Nothing beats the one i had in HK ~ 溏朝!

I'm glad that I had recommended a worthy dim sum place to my family & I dun have to crack my head in future lo!
