After work, met up wif Denise for my pre-birthday celebration, haha! really gotta thanks her for waiting till 6.45pm bef i could mit her as i was clearing up my work, bz take pics wif my team ppl & yes, so excited till i almost forget set my 'out of office' alert...since i be getting a gd 2 days rest on 29 & 30th. Hohoho!
Our targeted makan place was Sun with Moon @ Central. I had read rave reviews abt this place & Denise told me she tried the set lunch...it's good! Always walk pass this restaurant with it's Zen-like alfreso decor, ambience seems gd but sure pricey! So i opted to try out for the 1st time!
Luckily, my reservation was for 7pm & we were pretty on time, haha! I opted for indoor seats as scared too warm...plus better lighting to snap food pics! wahaha! Both of us see the menu till blur as the dishes have unusual names & not every dish r tagged wif a picture lo. But being a foodie, i had chk out food reviews prior to booking & jotted down dishes bloggers recommended, haha! After a good 15mins odd of reviewing the menu, i chk wif the waitress wat would be the recommended beef dishes? (both of us being beef lovers!) She pointed out a few to us & i opted for the Gyu Hotate Maki (Beef wrapped with mushrooms + scallops). Our other dishes r fr reviews i saw ... namely Rainbow Roll (Avocado & Mango with Real crab meat roll, topped with fish roe!); Tori Naban (fried chix with vinegar tartar sauce); 2 bowls of rice to go wif (really ex rice, costing $2 per bowl! gasp!).
Serving time was pretty fast & i noted the waitress would prompty refill our water. The Gyu Hotate was served first...not too bad, it reminds me of Sushi Tei's version too. The 2nd dish served was the Rainbow Roll & the presentation was lovely! 6 Rainbow Rolls nicely decked out in pairs, wif lettuce & myonnaise as decor! 3 pieces were topped wif Avocado as can tell fr the greenish colour; another 3 were topped with Mango...yum yum! I love mangoes! I usually won't dare eat fish roe, ok... but oh my! This Rainbow Roll is simply heavenly! (^o^) It's crunchy to the bite, while u could savour the mango's sweetness... i duno how the chef managed to blend the taste so well! When we almost chomp finish the rainbow rolls, our Tori Nanban & rice were dished out... Denise found the Tori Nanban normal, but i love it's succulent taste... the sauce made the chix bites special! This is like the chix karrage but more tender, not hard to bite!
Centre: Rainbow Roll ~ yummy! ;p

At the end of our dinner, we were pretty full & took a rest to digest our food. Cos' rite fr the beginning, i had eyed it's desserts! Kekeke! That's y i die die also muz try one of its desserts lah! We ordered the famous Tofu Cheesecake as both of us luv cheesecakes too! Denise tot it be a huge slice but no lo...it's juz a small piece costing $5.50 but presented in a bird cage! Yup, u din read wrongly...it's really a bird cage, how creative manz! The taste was quite unique & the texture was smooth, hence the name 'tofu' added! However, Denise dun fancy this 'unusual' cheesecake, haha!

Left & Right: How to eat your Tofu Cheesecake!
I found it's really a novelty eating at this restaurant as you won't know how ur food will be presented! Can tell tt the chefs had gone the extra mile, making sure that the dishes not only taste good, but looks good too! Oh ya, forget to mention that their current promo is Kyushu Gourmet Experience & the Chicken Nanban is from this promo menu... it's up till 9th Jun & at the end of the dinner, we got lucky draw forms. The prizes are air-tix to Kyushu! Wheee! Wonder if i be one of the lucky winners?
