26 Feb... had lunch wif Elene at China Square's Viet Express. She like Vietnamese food but she had not tried this restaurant. I rmbr vaguely tried this place like 7 or 8 yrs ago! China Sq is juz a stone throw fr our office. I ordered the Sliced Beef Pho Bo , while Elene had a special order...Prawns Pho Bo (dry version) which was not found in the menu. The service was great as elene checked wif the waiter his recommendation. Thou' Kway Teow was supp served wif the prawns & pork on the menu's listing, elene wanted to chg it to Pho Bo. Pho Bo is a kind of flat white rice noodle, usually served in soup. As a beef lover, my choice was no doubt the beef version! haha! We even had a plate of 4 pieces Fried Viet Spring Rolls, which tasted crispy & gd! Elene wished to try some special drink, so she had a passion fruit juice, served wif plently of ice... i dun quite like tt extreme sweetness thou'. Overall, this wld be a place i will rec for vietnamese food. Cosy ambience too. But if for lunch, better arrive early to avoid the crowd :) Viet Express. 3 Pickering Street. #01-34/35 Nankin Row. Tel: 6536 9914.
