Woke up early & boarded the MRT to Changi Airport... itinerary for the day was to send my gfs off at the airport. Ruby & Zf were heading to their much-awaited F&E trip to taiwan. During their planning stage...i shared my experience & ''machiam'' was abt to go wif them lo! haha!
We agreed to mit at 11am at T1 and when i reached the Changi Airport MRT station, saw two signs pointing ~ 1 side to T2 & Budget Terminal, the other side to T1 & T3. I headed up the escalator & found myself in T3, had to board the skytrain to T1. Ever since T3 opened in Jan this year, this was my 1st visit. When i reached T1, the gals had checked-in their lugguages & we returned back to T3. Ruby was familiar wif the place as her workplace shuttle bus will ferry them to e airport for lunch once a week. So, she told us the food court is situated at B2.
At the Kopitiam food court, we realize the price is almost double of wat u get outside the airport! It's like avg of $5 - $6 for food court fares! Well, i saw Popeye fried chicken outlet next to it & craved for tt! Despite a sore throat then, i still went ahead...it's many yrs since i get to come airport to eat Popeye, which strangely they dun open outlets elsewhere? We pondered at their menu for awhile & since the gals dun eat much (save their tummies for taiwan snacks!), we shared a 4 pieces combo set. Heng we share ah! the set actually comes wif 2 drinks, fries, coleslaw, whipped potato, buns & big pieces of the fried chix. (amazingly, my wks-long sore throat recovered e next day!)
By 12.15pm, they gotta rush back to T1 to board their JetStar flight, departing at 1pm! I went to the viewing gallery to watch their flight take off since i've alot of time...it's been really a long while since i enjoyed some peaceful moments at the airport.
Afterwhich, i returned to T3 & explored the departure hall & shops. There r many eateries in the public area (named 3-Top, at level 3 & 4). The unique thing abt T3 would be its special ceiling - automatically-adjusting skylights allowing natural sunlight to beam thru'. T3 was relatively quiet as not many airlines r operating from there yet... i guess most ppl are locals who went to chk it out too. Overall, the whole T3 was designed with mainly see-thru glass interior concept & made good use of plants, foliages & water fixtures to create a 'garden' ambience. I din realise there's 7 levels at T3 till i researching for this article! Here's some pics i took at the airport...
