Festive Feel @ Chinatown...

In view of the coming chinese new year, me & ruby impromptu decided to throng Chinatown streets last evening. We met up ard 630pm & wanted to eat dim sum at 德宝 @ Smith Street. WoW! Hav to Q leh! Wat a coincidence, both of us were decked in sprightly bright yellow tees, haha! Aft a while, we got seats tucked at the entrance...our dim sum were served within 5mins. The eateries in Chinatown were infested wif hungry diners as I could see practically most places were crowded. We had our fill of 烧卖，虾饺，芋头糕，皮蛋瘦肉粥.

Sei, we started walking thru' Smith Street & had to tread slowly... human jam! Saw the usual stalls selling 腊味 & photography enthusiasts shooting there. Festive goodies stalls formed the majority. Others sell festive decor' & Mickey Mouse seems e main attraction & 'mouses' in a varied shapes & sizes to welcome the Year of the Rat. Some r cute wo!

Ruby wanted take a look at the cheongsams but found none to her liking. Whereas both of us felt the kids' cheongsams r cute, even hv Hello Kitty prints ones! Shld look gd on little gals, LoL. We passed by a traditional Teochew or Hokkien Wayang stall...putting up puppet show! I wld pref it be in canto thou', heehee! We weaved our way among the crowd to go up the overhead bridge. So many ppl taking pics too! Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofy giant lanterns were the key feature there. Chinatown is lighted up by the Disney family this year.

We went back to ground level to shoot the moving Disney lanterns lining the middle divider. Veri challenging as heavy traffic was blocking my view. Both of us were thrilled when i caught sight of Winnie the Pooh, Tiger, Piglet & Eyeore! Wheee! So our flashes went again! Ended the nite wif a rest at Mac to cool ourselves...was really warm & sweaty lo!
