Today was a hectic & extremely hot day! Bef departure to HK, i had chk the weather forecast was rainy but now... it's bright & sunny! Good to visit the beach as planned.
Abt 9am, we headed for breakfast at ''美都餐室''located at 油麻地... had watched in one of the TVB dramas 《酒店風雲》, Ron & Ella Koon would visit here to eat egg tarts. With that in mind, we went to ask for egg tarts...haha! But to our disappointment, this cafe does not sell egg tarts! So kana fooled by TVB! Well, this is one of the ancient cafe with 50 years of history, we wanted to visit its 2nd storey but too bad, it's only opened fr 12 noon. We ordered their breakfast set consisting of macaroni & toast + drink. I had 火腿通粉 & saw only miserable bits of bacon!
After filling our tummies, we headed to take MTR to Central, Exchange Sq to
board the Express Bus 260 to Repulse Bay - 淺水彎. The double decker bus went veri fast & pretty scary as drove up the narrow mountain road. Within half hr, we alighted at Repulse Bay. The sun rays were extremely strong & we took a stroll along the beach. Was so engrossed in photo-taking at the shore-line, that i din realised high tide! I ran quickly & part of my shoe got soaked wif sea-water! haahaa! Treading to the end of Repulse Bay, we snapped some pics at a temple & some statues...
Seeing the time was nearing noon... we took a cab to nearby Stanley Market - 赤柱. There's also a Stanley beach but we din went further. Stopped at Mac to cool down ourselves & followed by more pics at Murray House & viewing the faraway yatches. Fyi, a nice TVB drama by 鄭嘉穎 & 陳松齡 《飛短留長父子兵》 was filmed in Stanley here! A row of European styled restaurant lined the street facing the seaview...it would be really ideallyic to laze around if not for the summer heat!
After half a day at the beach, we headed back to city...Piangz! Got free roller-coaster ride on the return journey as the bus sped down the mountain! Scary! We alighted at 彎仔 to walk around as I wan Mich to experience riding the Electric Tram. Guess wat? We happily boarded the tram & realised we got the wrong direction, keke! As we searched for directions, i noticed 太原街 which i recalled was a street selling toys...sure got my fav 小叮噹! We went 'siao' engrossed in seeing the toys...
Back in Central, we grabbed some sandwiches & drinks to bring to Victoria Peak to enjoy. But alas...we were lost trying to locate the correct bus-stop! We wasted lots of time trampling around...finally was so exhausted, we juz took Bus 15 to get to The Peak. Another long ride as it traversed up the mountain roads & it's my 1st time gg thru these curvy roads here.
Finally! By sunset time, we were able to catch a bird-eye's view of the skyline but it was veri foggy. Next, we proceeded to Madame Tussauds located inside The Peak's mall. Upon entering, we were suddenly re-charged again!
Cos there were many interesting wax figures of celebrities, politicians & historians for us to snap!!! I luv the Jay Chou one as the piano would play his songs. Hmm...veri excited when i saw Leslie Cheung's statue as i had wished to see it. The Andy Lau's statue was adapted from his image in 《無間道》 & had a 'Heartbeat' wo! Opp Andy was a corner for me to pose as a ''convict''...hehe! Purposely 扮可憐... Mich kept made me wana laughed! We took so many pics there & kept squeezing our creativity juices to think of wat pose next? Smiled till tired ... took over 100 shots here wo! =)
We headed back to The Peak's viewing area again to shoot the nite view! It was veri challenging as the place was flooded wif visitors. We had to be fast & patient to wait for ppl to clear the passageway & used tripod to zoom in. By the end of the nite, we were really drained out & had our dinner at 11pm! We went to 榮華茶餐廳 near our hotel & had my soupy 叮面 & some toast.
We went back hotel to rest & soaked our tired feets in warm water...Oh oh! We now then saw our arms were red & tanned ... never expect to get suntanned in HK! Their summer heat so powerful ah!
