Sentosa Flowers 2007 ~ 花會春節

1st time saw the cute ang pow packet in sentosa mailer...yee! have Humpty Dumpty & Baa Baa Black Sheep? Ohh, the theme for this year's flower show at Sentosa, Imbiah Lookout was Nursery Rhymes - titled Rhymes in Bloom.

Me, Ruby & Scott last minute decided to go, thou' i had earlier initiated on CNY's Eve to go wif ZF... At 3pm on 20 Feb, we were travelling on the new Sentosa Express, boarded direct from VivoCity's L3.

At the entrance, cheery sunflowers greeted us - that's my fav flower, 向日葵! Then, we saw Humpty Dumpty sitting on the wall 'waving' at us...haha! We spent great effort & time to tune my cam on the tripod to capture us wif Humpty Dumpty. Aiyo! this muz be our most familiar childhood nursery rhyme...keke!

As this is the Year of the Pig, we also saw the organiser had factored this into the numerous pigs exhibits... the central attaction was 'Pig Went Up In The Air'. We saw little kids queue up to climb the ladder... but we pai sei to do it lor, haha! At this juncture, we checked our map & Scott tot that this exhibit was 'Hickory Dickory Dock'... Later, Ruby discovered no lor! We chided him 'smoked' us isit? >_<

Luckily, we were issued map of the whole exhibit area, there were total of 28 photo points. Scott even meticulously crossed out to ensure all were covered. We straddled pass a bridge which oversees the miniature waterfall... along the bridge were 'Owl & the Pussycat' made out of leaves & flowers. This is a cooling area as the waterfall splashed some waters at visitors. The weather was very humid!

Passed the bridge, we finally saw the real 'Hickory Dickory Dock' & laughed, haha! Amidst the exhibits, we saw many species of flowers that bloomed nicely.

Afterwhich, we saw this nice garden, wif 'Mary Mary Quite Contrary' . I kept looking for my 'Baa Baa Black Sheep'...finally spotted it up the escalators, yeah! This was my fav nursery rhyme. It brought back some childhood memories...i guessed being exposed to nursery rhymes during childhood indeed helped my english language.

We saw the 'Old Woman Who Lived In a Shoe'... it's liked a playground for the kids, scrambling to climb inside the 'shoe'! Our shot at the 'Knave of Hearts' showed a cheery all-smiles! We moved on to check the remaining exhibits which probably had missed. Towards the end, my digi cam batt was dying & used hp cam...

To wrapped off, I told ruby to return to Humpty Dumpty's opposite side of wall...guess wat? On the opp side, was the scene where Humpty Dumpty had a Great Fall!!! It's hilarious...too many people crowded there to snap pic... if nobody blocked us, probably we can act some whacky poses... like a 'sad' face to 'suan' Humpty, kekeke!
Overall, we had a fun-filled afternoon ... sweaty & sticky... hands & feets aching, but all worth-while when reviewed our pics!
