Today had lunch wif family at TB Plaza to celebrate mom's birthday & yes, National Day too! I suggested to try out Lao Beijing, a Tung Lok Group's subsidiary... as we had never try its food before. This is a change from our usual dim sum.
Arrived past noon at the restaurant & it was still quite empty ... I asked the waiter if we could have the window table ... it was supposedly reserved but we got it anway! haha! The captain recommended us to try their set lunch which seems pricy but on the other hand, we were quite indecisive on what ala carte dishes to order... I only know i wan try it's 小笼包！
The dishes were served pretty fast & there was abit of space constrains at our table... the set comprised of 7 dishes! Items with * below were swaped wif 2 dishes fr the set. This flexibilty is good!
银丝干贝羹 Dried Scallops Broth with Silken Shredded Beancurd
醋浇金目鲈 Deep-fried Seabass withHomemade Vinaigrette
干锅辣子鸡 Quick-fried Chicken with Spicy Sauce
京酱肉丝配皮 Beijing Style Fried ShreddedPork and Leek with Chef’s Special Sauce (with skin)
三菇 (can't rmbr exact name - Stir Fried 3 types of Mushrooms)*
小笼汤包 Steam Juicy Meat Buns*
香芒玉枕 Mango Mousse Rolls Sprinkledwith Coconut Flakes
Personally i find the Seabass is pretty special as the whole fish was deep fried till crispy, the vinegar sauce 调味 is good! The 1st dish ~ dried scallops broth was good, not too saltish. The 小笼包 thou abit smaller than the ones from 鼎太丰, its taste still have standard. Initally, we were only served 4 of it & i was disappointed... but later another tray of 8 小笼包 appeared, that certainly filled my tummy!

The current promo also include a complimentary box of mini white lotus TungLok Mooncake with this set meal. Overall, we would consider returning as the service at this outlet was good. Here goes the food pics!
