Halloween @ Sentosa Spooktacular!

I have always been interested to check out our local Halloween parties since the last peeps into Sentosa Halloween from the outside couple years ago! Well, since I got a great deal for the tickets, I went with Ruby & SH.

After part 1 of our event, we proceeded to the Halloween @ Sentosa Spooktacular! We had to queue for some time outside the ticketing booth thou we already have our tickets on hand. Then we were led to the front of a huge projector & when the crowd gathered, the projector showed a horror trailer! It said that none of the filming crew survived after watching....wooo! creepy!

Then, the main door opened & we could gain access to 5 trails. We blur blur anyhow joined one of the queues - "The Body". After awhile, Ruby & SH went to the front to check the queuing time. Goodness, it takes at least 45min! Both finds that this one is too scary & bloody!

So we all decided to head over to ''Shutter" , it is also a snaking long queue! No choice, we found that we only have enough time to Q for 1 trail. That's disappointing! I tot we could at least explore a couple, but never expect that every trail's queue time is horrendous!

Over here, we bumped into K & got him to join us in the Q. 4 of us chatted & sweated juz as much during the extremely humid night! Luckily, we have a group to chat & kill time... otherwise, it's such a torture to stand for 1.5hr!

Finally, it's our turn to enter the haunted house! There's a group in front of us... so 3 of us gals held hands & ventured into the unknown! It's quite thrilling at those total pitch black darkness! I can't even see my own fingers! However, due to the gals in front already scream.... we lose the excitement to be scared out of our wits! There's even a pro photographer stationed inside to shoot visitor's screaming looks, haha!

With such a long Q & only 10mins in the haunted house, there's lack of oomph! We went to check out the final trail ahead & just as we about to Q, thinking it's not long... we were wrong! Hence, we gotta give up & just as we about to leave the place, a 'ghost' jumped out & gave the 2 gals a good scare! wahaha!

It's such an irony that they didn't get their scare inside the haunted house but outside! We were so glad that there's an air-con shutter bus right outside waiting to ferry us back to Vivo City! Alright, finally experience my first Halloween event! ^o^

From Dusk2Nite @ Sentosa 。。。

It's my 3rd consecutive sat photography outing! Today, joined the 50mm Group organised by Francis for shooting at Sentosa... The idea of doing sunset shoot at Palawan has been on my mind for quite a long while, but didn't materialise...finally, I'm gg Today! Met up with the group at Siloso Beach's Macdonald's for dinner before setting off at 6pm+.  Becos of late comers, when we reached the Palawan Beach, it's already close to 6.50pm! Left juz a short window period for the Golden Hour... Francis only gave us 30mins to shoot the sunset!

When most of the group set up their tripods on the sandy beach, I didn't follow suit...instead, I juz wander around & some creative sand-building caught my attention! There's 'turtles' & 'starfish' lying on the beach ~ built fr sand! Hence inspired me to compose my shots around them.... esp love the Turtle against the setting sun! Simply reminded me of the movie by Sammi Cheng & Richie Ren 《夏日麽麽茶》& the lyrics from its theme song 《浪花一朵朵》 ^o^

As I strolled back to the meeting point, I managed to take a quick shot of this little gal after returning the ball to her.
Supposedly, Francis wana bring us to the top of Imbiah Lookout to catch the last ray of light...but we realised there's insufficient time to do that. So, we lingered another half an hour at the beach to do some night photography. It's my 1st attempt doing long exposure shots at the beach ... setting the tripod on the sand was 'challenging' too! Attempted with 30s exposure for these 2 shots.

Past 8.30pm & after a tram & bus ride to the Merlion/Imbiah Lookout area... we were left to explore on our own for 45 mins. I din like the green laser eyes of the Merlion ~ there's an element of 'evil' & 'creepy'! So, I juz wander right thru to its end & caught glimpse of the 'Song of the Sea' show. When time's up, a few members of the group had left & Francis abandoned the plan to bring us for night-trekking inside the Dragon's trail.

We headed to the Resorts' World's Lake of Dream area & saw lots of people sitting at the amphitheatre... seems like there's some show. I was not aware there's such a performance, besides the Crane Dance! When the lights came on, different elements of wind/thunder/water/fire were combined to bring on a show!  Maybe next time, i shall re-visit for a proper shoot at this area.

We ended the night at Toastbox for supper & drinks...It's really tiring but I got to know some new friends!

Sentosa Flowers ~ Spring Wonderland

Sentosa is having its annual flowers show & a new broadwalk was recently unveiled to the public... Had visited its previous years' flowers show & was curious what's in stall this round! Hence, being the 3rd day of the CNY today.... I met up wif Ruby, BL, SH & YX to visit Sentosa together! Since one of the gals was late, we only started our stroll under the hot afternoon sun past 2pm! I was keeping my fingers cross for a sunny day thou! So we could do some photography :)

3 of us had our dslr, while BL & SH were not into photography... We got spilt up after walking abit of the broadwalk... as we the photography enthusiasts needed some time to gather our focal points, haha! The design of the broadwalk was good! There's a sheltered area wif travelator where visitors wif tired feets could get 'moved' automatically... Along the way, the festive blooms were lined...  Later, we caught sight of the 2 gals...ah, they were lining up for ice-cream! At the island's entry point, we could easily tap our Ez-link card to pay the $1 admission fee.... great!

Upon entering Sentosa, this area was a particularly new one to us... as it's the other end of Resorts World! There were a lack of signage pointing to the Sentosa Flowers & we finally found our directions after checking wif the staff. Thou already in the 3rd day of the exhibition, the island was still packed wif throngs of visitors & tourists. Trying to take photos was indeed a challenge!

As we walked to RWS, we saw the Chinese Zodiac ~ 12 animals designed into topiary. Walking thru' RWS, towards the Merlion... spelt the way to the main flower show. The Zodiac Spring Rabbit was the first to greet visitors, sitting right in front of the Merlion. Next, we saw this colourful bird design created by a myriad of flowers.  At each photo-point, throngs of visitors were lining up for their photoshoots! It's really tough to snap the pics without people!

Sg's symbols ~ Orchids & the Merlion
Then, at the Giant Tulips area... I'm more keen in the real tulips, haha! They were a pretty sight! But due to our warm climate, I noticed that the plants were fighting for their survival! Glad that i managed to capture a nice shot here.  We moved along wif the flow of the crowd to the Images of Singapore area & saw Easter Eggs & Bunnies...  A quick check of the map showed that we needed to re-trace our steps to the other side... to see the last few exhibits. I wanted to take a shot of the Valentine Day's rabbits, this gotta be the hottest spot! The Q was extremely long & I got to make a quick shot!

Finally, as we walked thru' Carrot Land... the grey skies gave way to a heavy rain! We were so lucky as shelter was juz 2 steps away! Another great part was....BL & SH were seated at the Coffee Bean & hence all of us had seats to rest our tired feets! Was so hungry by now & I got a treat fr Ruby ~ we shared a slice of yummy cheesecake! After an hour plus, the rain stopped & it's so cooling now! Fantastic! 5 of us took a sunset stroll along Siloso Beach...

Lastly, we boarded the free shuttle back to Harbourfront & dined at Kim Gary HK Cafe. The evening breezed thru' as we had a great time talking rot & laughed alot over dinner...
